The Koshira (pommel) is a metal accessory mounted at the end of the tsuka (handle) of Japanese katana swords, while the Fuchi (sleeve) is the sword mounting between the tsuba (guard) and handle. The tang of the sword goes into the handle through the opening in the fuchi. Often matched sets these two pieces together are called fuchi-koshira. -and-Koshira-(pommel)/Fuchi and Koshira.jpg)

Hello,
Two of my students have hanbon cutting blades and they’re having issues with their koshira. On one sword the ito is coming loose from under the koshira, on the other sword the koshira itself is loose and only barely held in by the ito. Any advice on repairing these issues?

Hello there!
I recently purchase one of your cutting blades, and I am also having issues with the koshira on my piece. I haven't used them for any cutting practice yet, only wall mount, and the koshira is coming loose from the Ito. I don't want to have to use glue unless necessary, as I have just received this piece about a month ago and do not want to damage it.
Any advice?
