Qianlong Dragon Chinese Sword Dao Sabre Folded Steel Blade Ebony Scabbard

This is the sword worn by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. It is carved with dragon patterns and is also called Qianlong longwen Dao(乾隆龙纹佩刀). Dao is defined as a short-edged sword with a single-sided long blade. The blade of this Qianlong Dao sword has been constructed from 1060 folded steel. It has been folded 13 times, creating 8192 grain layers. The sword is fully capable of being used on traditional targets. The blade is fully functional. The scabbard is masterfully done with ebony wood contouring to the shape of the sword. It features handmade fittings all made of high quality brass with traditional dragon design. The scabbard throat fits seamlessly into to the guard. There is brown color hanging cord tied between the first two fitting clips. The handle is natural black ebony wood with a brass pommel also features carved Chinese dragon design.
