Customized Hira-zukuri Clay tempered 1095 Steel Japanese Katana Sword

 

This is a customized katana sword. The blade was made of 1095 high carbon steel in Hira-zukuri construction(see the picture below), and it has been clay tempered and hand sharpened. The tsuka(handle) was made of hard wood with white real rayskin and blue ito wrapped. The tsuba(guard) and Koshirae were made of high quality brass with flower design. This sword has a hand-carved multiple ring-shaped SAYA(sheath) with black high gloss finished, and the sageo is thick black&white cord.
